Kate Horvat ’14 won the Girls’ Senior Single final at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta on Saturday. Horvat clocked in at 3:43.75 just edging second place finisher Natalie Stuart (3:44.15) of Episcopal Academy. “Emotional overload pretty much,” Horvat told CBS Philly. “This is what you work for for four years and to have it happen, just to even make it to the final in the ‘Stotes’ is just a huge deal and to win….a lot of people just dream about it.”

Philadelphia City Championships

Kate Horvat ’14 won the Girls Varsity single.

Jess Zettlemoyer ’15 won the Girls JV single.

Overall, the Patriots brought home five medals from Cities (2 golds, 2 silvers, 1 bronze) which is more hardware than any previous team!

Kate Horvat ’14 returned to the Schuylkill River on Sunday for the Philadelphia City Championships just one day after winning the girls’ senior single race at the Stotesbury Regatta on Saturday. The results were much the same as Horvat won the girls’ varsity single final to earn a second trip atop the winners podium in so many days. Horvat shaved nearly four seconds off her heat time to beat Rutherford High’s Georgia Seehaus.

After winning silver at the Stotesbury Regatta in the boys JV double on Saturday, Zach Burkhart ’15 & Hunter Pruitt ’15 returned to the winners podium on Sunday for silver in the City Championships.
