Germantown Academy recently announced that Libby Peters will be the school’s first Director of Rowing.
Here’s an excerpt from the announcement:
“We are absolutely thrilled to have Libby take control of our very popular rowing program,” said Fenerty. “She brings a wealth of experience to GA, as she’s found in success in the water as a rower on the collegiate level, and later on with the U.S. National Rowing team. She has also been a coach with a number of respectable high school and college programs.”
As GA’s first Director of Rowing, Peters will be responsible for all aspects of coaching the Upper School program as well as managing daily logistics surrounding practice schedules, GA’s boathouse rental and equipment details during the fall and spring.
“I’m honored to be here,” said Peters. “When I visited the school and went through the process of interviewing and meeting all the students, families and administrators, it really blew me away how passionate, enthusiastic and welcoming everyone was. I’m really excited to work with the student-athletes and the leaders of the school to bring the program to the next level. I think there is a lot of potential here and a lot to build from and I can’t wait to get started.”
