PHILADELPHIA — Katie Aemisegger took home the Carole Ann Cup and became the third Germantown Academy Varsity Girls Single gold medalist at the City Crew Championship in three years on Sunday.

Aemisegger, who also placed first in the time trial, follows Jess Zettlemoyer ’15 and Kate Horvat ’14 who won the championship in their respective senior years.

By winning the gold medal, the future Syracuse rower automatically qualified for Scholastic Nationals, which will take place over Memorial Day weekend in Zanesville, Ohio.

The girls’ lightweight double consisting of Lindsay Naber and Nina Tang also left an impression at the city championships. With Naber as the stroke and Tang as the bow, the duo finished third in both the time trial and final to earn a bronze medal.
